Pastina is a teeny tiny pasta in the shape of stars that is cooked and mixed with butter, egg, or whatever variation people make it as. To me, it is a very comforting, childhood dish that my parents and grandmother made for me, and it brings back many childhood memories. Today I make it frequently for my own children. It is perfect for the kids, as well as very young toddlers starting out on their solid foods! It’s perfect for cold winter days, bad days, good days, busy days..it’s literally perfect for any day or meal of the year! It’s so simple, and filling and very simple and quick to make in a pinch.
